It’s the joy you can bring to someone, once they see the finished images that you have created of them. There is no better feeling than knowing that you have made your client, now a friend, happy, for at least a short period of time.

I had a shoot back in late October with Johnny, and we did a “Peaky Blinders” theme.  The session lasted 2 hours and over the past couple of months, I have been editing the photos.  We touched base the other day and he asked if he could get a bunch because he wanted to share with his friends, which he did within a couple of minutes of receiving the images. The above quotes are his reaction.

A basic rule in portraiture says “expression and connect supersedes all the other rules".  Taking portrait or personal branding photographs is a team effort.  It’s not the photographer alone, there must be a connection between the subject and the photographer, and in the case of Johnny we managed to get that connection and he then brought on some great expressions. The end result was some fantastic images that both he and I loved.
